First Love // Looking back at the Nike PG 1
There’s nothing like your first love. You’ll always remember the time you spent together. You’ll one day look back and realize they were the ‘good ol’ days’ and wish they never ended. You’ll want to go back in time; you’ll wait for the retro release.
Nike selected (then-Indiana Pacer) forward Paul George as their next signature athlete last January 2017. As the Nike PG1 released, George joined LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving in Nike Basketball’s highest echelon.
The shoe has taken the court by storm whether both in the US and internationally. PG’s teammates wear it, his opponents wear it, and so does everyone else from college athletes to weekend hoopers. During the design process, PG asked Nike designer Tony Hardman to make “clouds on his feet”. Well, we’ve definitely seen a lot of clouds on court.
As we wait for the highly anticipated release of the Nike PG2, we take a look back, as many of us do, at The One.
