Just before the start of the NBA Playoffs in late April, the future stars of basketball from the best 64 collegiate teams in the United States will take the stage in the NCAA Tournament’s March Madness. Inspired by clutch sporting moments when athletes meant nothing but business to prove themselves to everyone watching, the inspiration of the signature shoe collection exemplifies the time-to-shine mindset.
The Time To Shine collection consists of the Nike Kyrie 3, Nike PG 1, and the all-new Nike KD 9 Elite that come predominantly in white, black and gray, respectively but what makes each shoe pop is the iridescent finish on the Swoosh to make it shine bright.
The previously released Nike PG 1 Prototype ‘Shining’ comes in black and an iridescent Swoosh. It’s the first signature shoe of Paul George, making him the 21st basketball player to receive such recognition from Nike.
Releasing in its first colorway, the new Nike KD 9 Elite comes in a dark gray base. The Elite version still features the Flyknit technology in the main area of the shoe and retains its full-length visible Zoom unit but it also now has a one-piece stretch collar that goes up until the ankles for support and an improved overall feel to the shoe. Another improvement made on the Elite version to withstand higher intensity games can be seen in the exposed cables from the bottom part of the shoe that go up until the laces strategically placed to offer support precisely where it’s needed for lockdown support. All of the improvements were made to make the shoe feel more like it’s one with your foot to get rid of all distractions when you’re on the court.
Kyrie himself has been no stranger to situations where all the lights and everyone’s eyes were on him. Completing the Time To Shine collection, the Kyrie 3 comes in white with not only the iridescent swoosh but also a multi-colored traction pod to make the shoe pop out on the court.
Celebrate the path to the championship and standout in clutch moments with Nike Basketball’s Time To Shine signature collection. The Nike PG 1 Prototype ‘Shining’ is still available in limited size runs in-store, the Nike KD 9 Elite ‘Time To Shine’ releases March 16, 2017 and the Nike Kyrie 3 ‘Time To Shine’ will follow next to complete the pack.
